USA Triathlon and Girls on the Run

Two blog posts in two days!  I am on a roll!  I just wanted to post a quick update about some of the volunteer work I do for both USA Triathlon and Girls on the Run as a coach and as an ambassador for both programs.  This coming year, both of these national organizations are trying to bridge programs to bring more youth into the sport of triathlon.  As a representative for both, I am very honored to be a part of this effort and to also have my story featured on USAT’s website under the Multisport Zone, My Story section.

If you have a daughter or granddaughter who is interested in running and gaining  a greater sense of self, friendship and support through training for a special goal, then please check out the Girls on the Run program.  It is an amazing one and I am especially proud to be a part of such a wonderful group of young women and phenomenal volunteer coaches.

You can read my interview with USAT by clicking here.  In the article, I chat about how I started in the sport of triathlon, what motivated me to become a Girls on the Run Coach, how I share my triathlon experiences with the young women I coach during practices for GOTR and how this program has made a difference in my life as the mother of all boys!
